On Thursday 18th of July, Welwitschia 213 41ers and their legs were accompanied by tablers to distribute soup and bread to the unsheltered residents of Windhoek, Namibia. Nelson Mandela has fought for social justice for 67 years. Giving 67 minutes of our time to honor Mandela through fighting poverty and promoting peace, reconciliation, and cultural diversity is the least we can do. 41ér Rene Oranje has solidified this approach every year for the last 6 years by taking the time to make food and getting the Wel213 gents on board with feeding the less fortunate on the streets of Windhoek.

Distribution points were wide and consisted of the main street of Windhoek, Independence Avenue, where we provided a meal to +- 45 people. The second distribution point was in a different part of the city in the area behind Wernhil Park and moved on to the suburbs of Klein Windhoek where 3 groups of homeless living in the drainage pipes and the bushy regions were provided with a meal.

67 minutes, around 50km driven to provide 120 warm meals on a cold winter night in the streets of Windhoek was more than fulfilling. Wel213 thanks Rene Oranje and his family for organizing the food and distribution as well as the Dentlinger family as friends of the table who joined the distribution.
