A new event introduced and will in future be added to the yearly calendar of projects undertaken by Round Table Walvis Bay 36!
For the first time the Round Table of Walvis Bay organised and hosted a charity fundraiser in the form of a football tournament whereby companies were approached to sponsor a team consisting of 10 players to play matches in a 7-a-side format tournament – which spanned through Wednesday, 26th & Friday, 28th during the evening from 18h00 to 20h00 and then the final rounds on Saturday, 29th September from 12h00 to 18h00 whereafter a prize giving was held and dinner was served !!
A very special thank you to Lizelle and her team at Atlantis Sports Club, all the meals were prepared on site and the food was fantastic!!
In addition the venue was the best we could have hoped for!! Thanks to the effort by Oswaldo and the groundskeeper at the club for all their efforts!!
We were most fortunate and grateful to have some sponsors and donors for most of the food items – as this was an integral part of the organizing, and made this tournament original within its own right!!! each registered player received a meal EVERY day after their scheduled matches were complete!!
In addition to the medals, trophy and other voucher prizes – after each and every match was completed we had a $50.00 Multisave voucher award for the Man-of-the-Match!!

Another beneficial aspect of the food supplied, was that ALL unused food items were then distributed to Kids Haven, where the many children whom are accommodated would also get some great meals. This organisation is also an ongoing Round Table Walvis Bay 36 project.

FM Investments took the 1st Place – Trophy, 10 x Gold medals & 5kg Hake Fillets
JAJ Logistics took 2nd Place – 10 x Silver Medals & 5kg Hake Fillets

Wesco Group took the 1st Place – 10 x Bronze medals
Francois Bou the runners up – 5kg Hake Fillets

Golden Boot – Jonas Katiti (FM INVESTMENTS CC) received an OTB voucher valued at N$ 400.00
Silver Sneaker – Kleophas Kleophas (JAJ LOGISTICS) received an OTB voucher valued at N$ 200.00
Bronze Sandal – Meven Nestor (JAJ LOGISTICS) received an OTB voucher valued at N$ 100.00

The feedback received from the players, company representatives and spectators alike was only positive and encouraging – and commitments have already been received for next years event!!
For these reasons, Round Table Walvis Bay will be planning to continuously host this event as a yearly project !!
